Jesus speaking to his disciples In Matthew 10:42 said “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward”.
(This proves to us that every Christian is being watched by the Lord 24/7. It also informs us that we as Christians need to be sensitive about the need of others.
While we are not told what the reward is by doing this good, we can be sure that the reward is forthcoming because the assurance is coming from God.
There is another passage that speaks to this point, in Matthew 25:35-46 where Jesus teaches about the different needs of people that were met by the believers, to their surprise, While they were administering a blessing to others the Lord was watching to the extent, that he said in Matthew 25:40 “ And the king shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me “.
Let us look for opportunities to do good to others as we continue to be under the watchful eyes of the Lord).
