Never in the history of the world was this thought ever emerged until now. This speak to the genuineness of the prophet Isiah, because he was obedient to voice of this revelation. He himself would have known that a virgin cannot conceive without the natural process. Therefore, he believed God and took him at his word.
The passage that speaks to us concerning this prophecy is Isiah 7:14. “Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel.
For over (700) Seven Hundred Years, this prophecy was unfulfilled, considering the strange circumstances of the prophecy, It could be easily said that it was false. Then within the fullness of God’s timing, he identified the virgin and explained to her how she was chosen, and in addition the process of how she would conceive. This information was revealed to Mary by the Angel Gabriel in Luke 1:34&35. “Then said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing that I know not a man?
And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the son of God”.
(This supernatural act speak to the sovereign ability of almighty God. This was not artificial insemination as this technology was not known during those days. It was a deliberate intervention of God planting a seed in Mary’s womb. After all this, God visited Joseph in a dream informing him that he should not fear to take Mary as his wife. In This dream God explain to Joseph the purpose for this child which was conceived by the Holy Ghost. Let’s look on the divine mission of this child. Matthew 1:21-23 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted, is, God with us”.
How unsearchable is the wisdom of God, his ways are passed finding out. To think that God’s love for you and I is of such that out of the reservoir of God’s unending love he found a way to redeem us back to himself. He is worthy to be praised.).
