Recently in the state of Louisiana, the Governor signed a new law for the Ten Commandments to be placed in all schools. This is a welcome call considering the moral and spiritual breakdown of the society. If we take a look at the first three commandments; we are going to see that God’s intention is that man should be heavenly minded. The first three commandments in Exodus 20: (1) “Thou shall have no other God before me.
(2) Thou shall not make unto me any graven image.
(3) Thou shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain”
These three first commandments speak of God’s desire towards all men. Therefore, placing these Ten Commandments in schools, in my opinion is the best place to start. Deuteronomy 6:6-8 says “And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your hearts:
And you shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be a frontlet between your eyes ”
(This is how important it is for the awareness of God’s word in our hearts. The Psalmist declared blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance”. Psalms 33:12. In order for this passage of scripture to affect America we need to get back to the Bible and the best place to start is in the homes and the classroom!!

I am so glad that God through His Holy Spirit, impressed upon the heart of those in authority to enact and pas a Law that the Ten Commandment be brought back in school rooms. In my school days The Bible was a text book, Scripture was a subject. To leave God out of our lives, or not be taught about Him, is the cause of so much lawlessness, hatred and discrimination. GOD IS LOVE and we should love God and others as we love ourselves. May God’s will prevail over those who are dissenting. Give our children a chance to know about their Creator.
