There’s the universal belief that God’s love depends on what we do. Therefore, it is important for us to understand that even when we sin, it doesn’t change God’s love towards us.
For we are told in Romans 5:7-10 “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, be now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life”.
(The Bible also tells us that where sin abound, grace did much more abound. This speaks to the fact that in whatever situation, in whatever condition we find ourselves, we need to be aware that God loves us still. It is my belief that many develop a sense of resentment against God because they feel that God has changed his love towards them.
When we talk about God’s love towards us, we are talking about the very nature of God. God’s nature is locked in, impossible to change.
This is how we know who God is, according to 1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that Loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love”.
We have just read the real evidence of God’s nature, that God is love, and that love cannot change, sin cannot change it, distance cannot change it, zip code cannot change it, age cannot change it, skin color cannot change it, God’s nature cannot be changed which is love.
This does not give license to sin but, it shows to the extent of how far God will go to forgive and to save.
