Galatians 1:3-4
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
In addressing the churches in Galatia, the Apostle Paul highlighted some important truths about the gospel.
Firstly, he stated that Jesus Christ gave himself. (a) His death was voluntary; he was not forced. (b) His death was also final. He died once.
1 Timothy 2:6 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Titus 2:14 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Secondly, He died for our sins. He had no sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Thirdly, the purpose was to deliver us. It was to rescue us from this present evil world. This tells us that He has something/somewhere better for us. The gospel is emancipating.
- It frees us from the penalty of sin (salvation past)
- It frees us from the power of sin (salvation present)
- It frees us from the presence of sin (salvation future)
John 5:24 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Fourthly, it was according to the will of God the Father
Hebrews 10:7 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Consider this fact: He did it just for you.

Ps 8-4: what is man that you are mindful of him. God is concerned about man, because we represent Him: We were created in His image, but man through disobedience, brought sin upon the whole human race: Jesus who had no sin paid the price with His own Blood on the Cross to redeem and reconcile us back to God, that is how much He loves us. He would not leave us in that state. AMAZING LOVE ❤️ MERCY AND GRACE. Thank you LORD.
