The attention of the world is focusing on the eclipse that is to occur on Monday April the 8th. It involves people traveling from one state to the other to get the best views, it also involves the purchase of special eye wear in order to get the best sighting of the eclipse. While the eclipse of the sun doesn’t happen frequently, it speaks to the realignment of God’s celestial body. We are told that when this eclipse happens the moon blocks out the sun as it passes before it which results in darkness upon the earth for a few minutes. The scripture tells us of darkness upon the earth at noon day which was not cause from an eclipse of the sun. According to Luke 23: 44-45
“And it was about the sixth hour, (being 12 noon) and there was darkness over all the earth until the 9th hour.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst”.
(In the midst of mocking, jeering, taunting, confusion at the foot of the cross and the crowd at large suddenly, as Jesus hung there on the cross in the brightness of the day which resulted in total silence from everyone within the region of the cross. That silence was broken by Jesus who said, “My God, my God why hath thou forsaken me?” It was in that moment that the weight of the sins of the entire world was placed upon Jesus, it was in that moment also that the wrath of God was satisfied, and it was in that moment, the debt of sin was paid for but, bless the Lord out of darkness comes light, Jesus is the light of the world).!
