The country is engaged in an election cycle so I will not hesitate to encourage you to exercise your right to vote for the candidate of your choice. Every four years the citizens of America are given the right to choose a new president according to the construction. Let’s see what the Bible says about “election.”
Romans 8:28-33 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the first born among many brethren.
Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s ELECT? It is God that justifieth”.
(This passage explains to us that in contrast of the citizens of America in choosing a president, not so in the kingdom of heaven, it is God who chooses the citizens of his kingdom. In verse (33) we are called the elect of God. No man can receive Jesus as savior unless God draws him. John 6:44 ” No man can come to me, except the father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day”. Therefore, we should ask ourselves the question when was this drawing/election done? We are told in Ephesians 1:4 “A according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”.
(It is therefore made clear to us that from the church standing it is not us who chose God, but it is God who has chosen us to be citizens of heaven. It does not matter how and when we came to know Jesus, he was working on our behalf all the time.

When Israel wanted a king, God told Samuel that they had rejected Him as King, they got their desire, but the king was later rejected by God for not being obedient. Another person was to be chosen from a family. Samuel chose one by one of seven sons, all rejected. God said man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart. Proverbs 8-15-17 by me kings reign and princes decree justice, by me princes rule, even all the judges of the earth, I love them that love me. Pray these candidates would Fear God, do justly, love mercy, instead of hate, have integrity and walk humbly before God. Pray the Lord’s will be done and vote for His choice and not the clamor of the people.
