We learn from the scriptures that we should repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. John the Baptist preached to this end. Jesus himself emphasized repentance, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
What is the kingdom of God/of heaven? According to Hebrews 1:8 God the Father speaking “But unto the son he saith, thy throne oh God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom”.
(From the very outset of Jesus entering into our world God the father made it clear that his son’s mission is to demonstrate the righteousness of his kingdom. Another scripture that supports the nature of his kingdom is to be found in Romans 14: 17 that says “For the kingdom of God is not meat nor drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost “.
Here we have the full nature of the kingdom of God and God want us to be partakers of this nature, because the Bible tells us in 2nd Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. This righteousness of the kingdom which was given to us was made possible by Jesus dying on the cross, after his resurrection he declares that “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”. Matthew 28:18b
This power and authority allow Jesus to rule and reign universally, it includes building his Church and subduing principalities and powers. We also see in the scriptures that there will be a time when Jesus would cease this operation. According to 1st Corinthians 15: 24 – 28 “Then cometh the end when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he said all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God maybe all in all “.
The door to this kingdom is closing fast and Jesus who is that door, is waiting to let you in before he turns the kingdom over to his father, I courage you to come in without delay.
