In Psalm 19:1-2 “The heavens declare the Glory of God and the firmament showeth his handy work. Day unto day uttereth speech, night unto night showeth knowledge”.
(Passages from the scriptures like these inform us to a great extent about the supreme being that controls the universe. Man’s desire, however, is always to know more about this sovereign God, in this we discovered that God also chose to reveal himself through his spirit to the heart of man.
There are two passages that teaches us about how God reveal himself to man1.
1. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 All scriptures is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God maybe perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
2. 2nd Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost “
Looking on these two passages of scriptures which represents the Bible as we know it:
1. God reveal his love John 3:16, 1st John 4:7-8
2. God reveal his mercy Ephesians 2: 4-7,
Psalm136:1-26
3. God reveal the scriptures for us to have eternal
Life John 5:39,
4. God reveal his holiness Isaiah 6:3
5. God reveal his judgment Romans 2:1-5
Despite all that these scriptures reveal about God, God still reserve the right not to reveal everything about himself, for he said to us in Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
