No, it’s not a sin. The Bible tells us about many people who were rich or possess great wealth. We think about Abraham, David, Solomon, Job, and the list goes on. The Bible does support the idea of men possessing great wealth. Let’s see how we can dismiss the controversy that having great wealth is a sin and for this question we will now look at a few quotes from the scripture.
First scripture Psalms 62:10 “trust not in oppression and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase set not your heart upon it.”
(Here we see that riches are not the problem, but where your heart is.
In Jesus’s teaching Luke 12:34 “for where your treasure is there will be your heart also” here the scripture clarifies the question “Is It A Sin To Be Rich ” a person can be rich as long as it doesn’t empower the heart).
We are further told in Luke 12:15 “and he said unto them, take heed beware of covetousness, for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he posseseth”.
(In all these scriptures that we’ve just mentioned there are no objections of being rich in the word of God, but we are told from the scripture, that we should separate our heart from our riches in the interest of gaining eternal life, let us set our hearts on Jesus who is our treasure
