8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
We ask this question because of what Jesus said in John 16:7-14 Let’s take a look at verses 13&14.
“Howbeit when He, the spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will show you things to come.
He shall Glorify me; for he shall receive of mine and shall shew it unto you.”
(We’ve just been told by the scriptures, that the Holy Spirit is given the responsibility by the Godhead to inform the church. When the bible says in verse 13 whatsoever, he shall hear that he should speak: it is saying to us that he is given the position as the general secretary of the God- Head. It is He who teaches us about Jesus, it is He who brings us revelation in regard to the God- Head, it is through Him that every believer has come, for in John 3:6 Jesus said “that which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. So, no believer has come into the kingdom without the knowledge of the Holy Spirit. This truth is emphasized in 1st Corinthians 12:13 where it says, “for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink in one spirit.”
So let us all recognize the worth and work of the Holy Spirit among us as believers).
