The Christian community is experiencing tremendous challenges from the kingdom of darkness.
This kingdom of darkness is manifested in various ways for example:
(1) There’s a challenge to the creation model as it has to do with marriage and gender.
(2) There is a challenge to the belief in the word of God.
(3) There is a cultural challenge that is being manifested in regular adorning of people we see in the public, which in some cases can be found in the church.
All of the above has an impact on the reduction of attendance in the various churches.
According to a recent news article: It is reported that between 15 and 1,700 pastors are leaving the ministry monthly. Among the many reasons given, is a “loss of optimism”. This is very frightening; it speaks to lack of confidence in the gospel of Christ. Young Timothy as a minister had experienced this challenge as well, which resulted in the Apostle Paul writing to him as we read from 2 Timothy 1:6-8 that says “wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the affliction of the gospel according to the power of God:”
( According to that quote from the Apostle Paul to the young servant, one can easily identify the lack of confidence in the ministry of God’s young servant. That letter was designed to build back confidence in the Pulpit, it is my prayer that God will continue to raise up men at this time, who will say like the apostle Paul “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to anyone that believeth: to the Jews first, and also the Greek”.
