This has been a controversial issue over the years, among denominations.
It has even created divisions between members of different religious groups.
This is a very delicate issue, and in addressing it we must be cautious to not give an opening to the enemy. Christians should always endeavor to be united in doctrinal affairs. Let us hear what the word of the Lord has to say on this matter.
According to Deuteronomy 6:4-9
The Lord gave instructions through Moses relating to how parents should teach their children about who God is.
Verse 4 of Deuteronomy 6 is very significant in this regard. Let’s look at it.
“Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord”.
(Therefore, it is evidently clear from the Bible that there’s only one God. Also, Isaiah 45:21-22 emphasize the same.
22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
However, we believe that this one God is manifested in three distinctive areas,
Namely: Father,Son and Holy Spirit. Of which we learn from Jesus himself in Matthew 28:18-19 that says ” go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”.
(This is a mystery that we will have to embrace based upon what the scripture teaches).
This thought will continue in the next blog.
