Words spoken by Jesus as He hung upon the Cross, {John 19:30} What is the meaning of these words? IT IS FINISHED? Salvation’s work is complete – Mission accomplished – Mandate carried out – Assignment finished – Tetelestai – it signifies the successful end of a particular course of action – Final payment – Paid in full – I did exactly what I set out to do: Tetelestai {in Greek} is in the perfect tense because it speaks of an action which has been completed in the past, with results continuing into the present. It is different from the past tense which looks back to an event and says, “This happened.” The perfect tense adds the idea that “This happened, and it is still in effect today and will remain Finished in the future.”
The great purpose of God in the History of man from the beginning was now accomplished: John 3:16: For God so loved the world, He gave His Only Begotten Son, that “Whosoever” believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life: V17- For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved:
Romans 5-8:9: But God commended his Love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now Justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Jesus took our punishment that we justly deserved:
O The Love of God that drew Salvation’s plan: O The Grace that brought it down to man: O The Mighty Gulf that God did span at Calvary: Mercy there was great and Grace was free; pardon there was multiplied to me: There my burdened soul found Liberty at Calvary: Jesus paid it all: IT IS FINISHED: We accept what He did by Faith: We cannot add to it: Through Jesus’s sacrifice- We are cleansed from sin – His Blood brought us all Atonement: Set free from bondage – blindness – death – hell and the kingdom of darkness: 1 Cor 15:55-57: O death where is your sting? O grave where is your victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the Law: But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through Our Lord Jesus: Jesus tasted of death – went into hell, disarmed the devil, took away the keys of death, hell, and the grave: The grave could not hold Him captive: He rose Triumphantly: He Lives Forevermore: He is Lord over all: Conquering Lion of Judah:
Because of Christ’s, IT IS FINISHED: He died, we died with Him: He rose, we rise with Him: He lives, we live with Him: What a glorious thought: He ever lives to make Intercession for us as Our Great High Priest: He is coming again not to go to the Cross, this He did once: But To Rule as, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS: And JUDGE of the quick and the dead:
He came as a babe, born in Bethlehem, grew in stature and favor, with God the Father and with man, began His Ministry in all of Judea, rode into Jerusalem, with cries of HOSANNA: Lord please Save us: This He did at Calvary: IT IS FINISHED: The Battle over, raging with the demons of hell: IT IS FINISHED: The End of the conflict: IT IS FINISHED: And JESUS IS LORD:

Amen amen and amen yes indeed (it is finished ) ✅
