While our tongues confess Jesus as Lord, we need to also see him in a further dimension, we need to also acknowledge him as God. There are many different passages in the scriptures that speak to him as such but, the one we will mention is taken from John 20:27-29
“Then said he to Thomas, reach either thy finger and behold my hands, and reach either thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
(Thomas expression as Jesus spoke to him, revealed by the Holy Ghost, the true identity of Jesus that he was both Lord and God, right there as a result of this revelation Jesus pronounced a blessing on those of us who will read the scriptures and believe that he is both Lord and God.
This blessing continues to excite the church as to who Jesus really is. He is our Lord, and he is our God. This is made clear by the Lord himself in Isaiah 44:6 ” This saith the Lord king of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; “I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
This doctrinal truth is embraced by the evangelical church including the Apostolic Church In America. I would like to use this opportunity to invite you to join us in our Bible studies that is held bi-weekly on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on our conference line. Let’s continue to see Jesus as both Lord and God as we read his words.
