According to Matthew 2:19-21 “but when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in Egypt,
Saying, arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life.
And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and they came into the land of Israel”
(How great it is when all of our steps are ordered by the Lord. We are told here that when the danger was passed (Herod being dead) God appeared unto Joseph for the third time in a dream, this time Joseph was instructed to get out of Egypt into Israel for the danger is passed).
This instruction to Joseph is a fulfillment of prophecy. In Matthew 2:15 we read, ” and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, out of Egypt have I called my son”
This prophecy was taken from the book of Hosea 11:1 that says ” when Israel was a child, then I loved him, and call my son out of Egypt”
(While we are seeing how God protects his own, we are also seeing, the call of God from danger.
First, God called the children of Israel out of Egypt Exodus 3:10-12 second God called his son out of Egypt, Matthew 2:15, and three, God is calling us out of Egypt. The world is a type of Egypt and God is calling us from idolatry, from sin, and slavery. Which can be described as a yoke of bondage. Therefore, anyone who has not surrendered their life to Jesus is still living in Egypt under the yoke of bondage. I have answered the call of God which releases me from Egypt’s bondage, my prayer is that you will do the same and be free).
Praise God I am free from the bondage
of sin and death through Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord. Galatians 5-1: Standfast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage of sin and death, for whom the Son sets free, is free indeed. Thank you Jesus for bearing my sin and paying the price with your Precious Blood on the Cross. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. New life in Jesus is the best, I am not looking back.
