Speaking to many Americans they claim that thanksgiving is an American culture.
American history supports this thought because on October 3rd, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation declaring that the last Thursday of November should be a day of thanksgiving. It is good to reflect on the farming community, the military establishment and the creation of the Constitution as the bedrock in the formation of the nation. Giving thanks to God is always positive in light of all these achievements.
There is another reason to offer thanksgiving to God.
In Psalm 136:1-26 that carries twenty-six verses, twenty-six reasons are given why we should give thanks, but when we read the last four verses that says “who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth forever:
And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth forever.
Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth forever.
Oh give thanks to the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth forever.
From this we discover it is not only the United States that should give thanks but, people in general.
Let us therefore “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth through all generations. Have a bless thanksgiving to you and your family.

As I reflect on Thanksgiving Day, my greatest Thanksgiving is for the day I met Jesus my Lord. A wonderful day I will never forget, after I had wondered in darkness away, Jesus my Savior I met, OH what a tender compassionate Friend, He met the need of my heart ❤️ shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all my darkness depart. Heaven came down and Glory filled my soul, when at the Cross, the Savior made me whole, my sins were washed away, my darkness turned to day, Heaven came down and Glory filled my soul. Every day is Thanksgiving for the Spiritual, Physical and Emotional Blessings, that keeps me rejoicing, through the Holy Spirit to God my Father for His Precious Son the Lord Jesus Christ. What a Gift. Thanks,Thanks LORD.
