Recently I was reflecting on my past lack of accomplishments which caused me to feel very uncomfortable. As I continue in this reflection; a female customer came through the entrance door of the store I was in, I noticed that she had no hands but, while interacting with her friends she appeared outstandingly happy.
Immediately I pivoted from reflecting on my lack of accomplishments to the many benefits that I have received from the Lord. In Psalm 68: 19 we read “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our Salvation.”
To think that there’s a daily loading of benefits towards me, cause my failures to fade in the distance of my memory. Having two hands, two feet, two ears and two eyes that functions are all parts of this daily benefits.
The Psalmist also encourages us to give thanks for Gods benefits. In Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases: Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s “.
In light of what we’ve just read, let us count our blessings and not our failures.
