After experiencing The Agape- Unconditional- Unfailing- Incomprehensible- Everlasting Love of God / What could a person put above Love for God?
Is it the Lust of the Eyes -The Lust of the Flesh -The Pride of Life – or the Cares of the World?
Before addressing these three areas I would like to Remind you of two Scriptures: John 3:16 For God so Loved the world, He gave His Only Begotten Son, that Whosoever believes on Him, will not perish but have Everlasting Life: He gave His Son to die on a cruel Cross: He paid the Price for our sins: His Blood that was shed to Cleanse the Repentant sinner from all sin, Justified as if he never sinned and now have Peace with God and the Peace of God:
Romans 8: 8-10: But God commendeth His Love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us: Much more then, being now Justified by His Blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him: For if, when we were enemies, we were Reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being Reconciled, we shall be saved by His Life:
John 21:15-17: After Jesus was Risen from the dead, He said to Simon Peter, Simon son of Jonas, Lovest Me More than these? He answered, Yes Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee: The question was asked three times: Simon son of Jonas, Lovest thou Me? Peter was grieved when asked the third time, he said Lord Thou knowest all things and know I Iove You
Peter had denied the Lord three times, when Jesus was taken by the rulers before going to the Cross: Jesus specifically gave him another chance to serve Him: Peter was ashamed: When we fail, do not be ashamed to come to Jesus, He will forgive: His Love never Fails: Confess our sins and confess Him before men and He will confess us before The Father:
The Lust of the Eyes: Wanting more than is necessary: Not satisfied with what The Lord gives us: God knows what is best and will withhold no good thing from His Loved ones: We should not love things more than we Love God: The same question is asked of everyone: Lovest thou Me more than these things? Love The Lord above everything:
The Lust of the Flesh: Temporary and may satisfy for a time: No one compares to the All Satisfying – Incomparable – Everlasting Love of Jesus: Come taste and see:
The Pride of Life: This is the worst of all: Ego- Self Exaltation – I know more than The Only God Wise God: I will do what I like: Scripture says: God hates Pride: Pride goeth before a fall: Pride causes man to Sin: God hates sin but He Loves the sinner, so God’s Love found a Way to destroy sin and save the sinner: CALVARY’S CROSS: Love Lifted me, will Lift you too:
Philippians 2:5-11:Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be Equal with God: Made Himself of no Reputation, took the form of a servant, made in the likeness of men: Humbled Himself, was obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross: Wherefore God hath Highly Exalted Him, Given Him a Name Above all Names: He is the One we Bow to, Confess He is Lord and LOVE ABOVE ALL
