Isaiah 61:10: I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the Garments of Salvation, He hath covered me with the Robe of Righteousness, as a Bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a Bride adorneth herself with her jewels. The Believer is clothed by God: Christ is our role model: We must conduct our lives, in a manner as He would, for the world to see: Here are some requirements for us to Practice:
PUT ON: is literally a dressing term, even as we dress physically, we dress spiritually: Assuming the Manner, Character and Disposition of our Lord: Romans 13:14: But PUT ON, The Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof: eg; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life: Ephesians 4:24: And that you PUT ON, the new man, which after God is created in Righteousness and True Holiness: 2 Cor 5:17: If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation, behold all things have become new: The old man is dead: We now walk in newness of life: I am a new creation, I am a brand new man, old things have passed away, I am born again , more than a conqueror, that’s who I am, I am a new creation, I am a brand new man:
Colossians 3:12-17: PUT ON, therefore as the Elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do you: And above all these things, PUT ON charity, which is the bond of perfectness: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body, and be you thankful Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs, singing with grace in your heart to The Lord: And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in The Name of The Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and The Father by Him: So as we dress daily; we also have to meditate daily on the Word, and observe to do all that is written, that we may be conformed to the image of Christ:
Ephesians: 6:11-13: PUT ON the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, STAND, with every piece of the armour in place, it has to be PUT ON, daily, we are in a spiritual warfare: no solder goes to battle unprepared: Isaiah 61:3; PUT ON the Garment of Praise, daily; for the spirit of heaviness: Praise is vital for Victory: God inhabits the Praises of His people, dwells in, and manifests Himself in our Praises:
PUT OFF: Take off, lay aside, the habits of the old man: They are many: Ephesians 4:22: That you PUT OFF; concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts: The old man with his deeds is crucified with Christ, dead and buried, risen in newness of life in Him, abiding in Him, The Holy Spirit helping us to change: Romans 13:12: Cast off, the same as to PUT OFF; the works of darkness, we are not of darkness anymore, but of the Light, where our good deeds can be seen to Glorify God: Colossians 3:8-9: But now you also PUT OFF all these; anger, wrath, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth: lie not one to another, seeing that you have PUT OFF the old man with his deeds, they only bring death.
PUT AWAY: There is a long list of things we must PUT AWAY; that are not productive: Ephesians 4:25-32: Wherefore PUTTING AWAY, lying, speak every man Truth with his neighbor; for we are members one of another: Be ye angry and sin not; let not the sun go down on your wrath; neither give place to the devil; Let him that stole, steal no more; but rather let him work with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth; Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be PUT AWAY, from you with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you: 1 Corinthians 13-11: when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I PUT AWAY childish things:
Believers are to PUT AWAY childish behavior, speaking and actions; Christian maturity requires us to give up old patterns and embrace new ones, everything changes, our words, actions and the way we think, Our minds must be renewed by reading and obeying, THE WORD of GOD:
Jesus has PUT ON His Righteousness on us; PUT OFF and PUT AWAY for all time, our filthy rags, let us keep our Robes of Righteousness, white and clean as His Bride until He returns:
