If someone listens to the weather report, they will discover that some weather forecast reporters predicts that there could be 1-3” of snow in the Orlando and Tallahassee Mountains during the weekend of January 18-20. This is rather unusual considering the typical sunshine weather Florida experiences all year round.
It is in situations like these that we look to the Bible for an answer. We are told in Genesis 8:22” While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”.
(This promise of God guarantees continuity so as to ensure proper planning both in agriculture and commerce. There is also a quote from Ecclesiastes 3:2b “A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. “Here in this passage, we just read the Lord said there will be seed time and harvest meaning, there is a season for everything. At this moment the big question is, will we experience snow in Florida from this season of winter? The law of nature speaks to us in different forms but, its true purpose is to put the flood lights on our creator. We cannot think about snow in Florida without he who is behind the snow.
It is interesting that the passage said while earth remaineth, it speaks to the fact that there’s going to be a time when earth as we know it shall be destroyed. 2nd Peter 3:10 & 11” But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversations and Godliness “.
Looking back on what we’ve just discussed we can’t help but notice the sovereign ability of God; let us prepare ourselves to meet him.
