The residents of Kerrville Texas recently experienced untold tragedy with One Hundred Twenty-Nine (129) people who died as a result of a flood and the death toll is still counting.
Many questions are being asked and there are no satisfactory explanations why such a disaster occurred. The losses included deaths, properties, emotional distress and injuries to people still in the hospital.
One of the many questions raised, is whether or not there was adequate warnings to the public. As we continue to listen to the reports from the media, I was being reminded of another flood. This was recorded in the book of Genesis chapters 6 & 7. The story speaks of Noah who was appointed by God to build an Ark that could withstand a flood for One Hundred and Fifty Days (150) during which time every living creature upon the Earth would’ve died saved Noah and his family who were in the Ark.
Yielding to warnings save lives, Noah warned the people of the impending flood, but his words were not taken seriously. We are being warned of another impending danger, and that is the second coming of our Lord Jesus.
This is how Jesus is giving us the warning. In Matthew 24: 36 -39 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the Angels of heaven, but my father only. But as in the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark. And knew not until the flood came and took them all away; so, shall also the coming of the son of man be”.
(Finally, God has never allowed destruction without warning. We are now in the warning stage of the second coming of Jesus. It is for every one of us to adhere to this warning so as to avoid the danger of being left behind in the second coming).
