We are told in Psalms 119:11 that ” thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
(To sin against God is a violation of God’s law and the penalty can be severe, because the word tells us that “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” therefore in protecting the Psalmist from the severe penalty of sin he chooses to hide God’s word in his heart where decisions are made.
For we are told in God’s word “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he” that word will surface in any conversation, any decision making, in any prayer for it is always in the heart. The seat of consciousness.
Let’s continue to hide the word in our hearts, so that we will not sin against God.
