The word BLOOD and every variation, is mentioned four hundred and twenty-four times in three hundred and fifty-seven verses in the Bible: I will give some references:
Genesis 3: Adam and Eve sinned through disobedience V21: Unto Adam and to his wife, did the LORD make coats of skin and clothed them. They were naked. BLOOD was shed: The BLOOD of the human race is tainted by sin: In all creatures; within the BLOOD; is life: Acts 17:26: God hath made of one Blood, all nations of men, for to dwell on the Earth:
Genesis 4: Here is a story worth reading: Cain killed his brother Abel, because Abel offered a sacrifice acceptable to the LORD: Cain’s offering was not respected by God, he was wroth: {highly incensed} when asked by the LORD, why he was wroth? The LORD did not even allow him to answer, he was told that sin lieth at the door? The Lord knows our hearts; instead of doing right, he slew his brother: When asked by The LORD; where is your brother? His reply; am I my brother’s keeper? What arrogance: The LORD said, your brother’s BLOOD crieth unto me from the ground; now you are cursed: The BLOOD speaks:
There was a lot of animal BLOOD shed under the Old Testament; types and shadows of a better Covenant to come, no more shedding of BLOOD of lambs, bulls goats and birds: Thank God for The Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world: John 1:29:
Hebrews 9:1-28: explains the First Covenant and Ordinances of Divine Service and a worldly Sanctuary: Altar: Sacrifices: Holy Place: The Holy of Holies: Cherubims: Mercy Seat: The High Priest: He could only enter once a year in the Holy Places, not without BLOOD for himself, and for the errors of the people: for a time; until the better is come:
But Christ being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect Tabernacle, not made with hands, neither by the BLOOD of goats and calves, but by His Own BLOOD, He entered in once into The Holy Place, having obtained Eternal Redemption for us: We do not have to bring our own sacrifices; for if the BLOOD of bulls and goats sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall The BLOOD of Christ, who through The Eternal Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God, purge our conscience from dead works, to serve The Living God:
For this cause He is The Mediator of The New Testament: For where a Testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the Testator; a Testament is in force after men are dead; otherwise it is of no strength all the while the Testator liveth:
Whereupon neither the First Testament was dedicated without BLOOD: According to the Law, Moses took the BLOOD of calves and goats, sprinkled both The Book and the people saying, this is the BLOOD of the Testament which God hath enjoined unto you: Moreover, he sprinkled with BLOOD both the Tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by The Law purged with BLOOD; without shedding of BLOOD is no remission:
