As we look forward to another Christmas, we are once again engaged in the different events surrounding the birth of our Lord Jesus.
Let’s take a look at Joseph according to Mathew 1:20-25. “But while he taught on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him and took unto him his wife.
And knew her not till she had brought forth her first born son: and he called his name
JESUS.”
If you read verses 18 and 19 you will see the reason for Joseph’s problems, which caused God to speak to him in a dream. Speaking to some of you men, what would you do in a situation like this? THE CHILD IS NOT HIS.
Right at that moment, God stepped in and told him not to fear. What’s comfort.? God also told him to marry her, because she was not unfaithful, this is the work of the Holy Ghost. Read Luke 1:34-35.
Can you see how God provided a man in Mary’s life at a time when she really really needs him to stand by her.
I would like to take this time out to commend all the men who have fathered child or children that they know is not there’s.
Thank you for showing that love for the family. Yes, you fell in love with this woman with her child or children and you marry her, adapted the children with tender love and care, you are a Joseph.
Joseph did as the Lord told him, he took Mary and called her his wife, by so doing he at the same time adopted JESUS as his own, Hallelujah
