Psalm 96 reads “O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof. “
Verse 11 tells us the story; it tells us that worship cause heaven to rejoice. When we talk about heaven we are talking about God himself and the celestial beings. It is interesting to know that man in all his fragileness can bring this level of attention to the general abode of God.
(As we continue to observe worship from the word of the Lord; we discover the dual nature of this act. Again, verse eleven 11) not only tells us that heaven rejoice, but it also says that earth is glad. When we worship it brings relief, it brings joy and gladness to the human heart, whether it is corporate or personal.
We are also told in Psalm 22:3 “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel “.
This is more information for us that God takes up his abode among his people because of worship. In this it is safe to say heaven comes down and Glory shines around.
Worship also produces brokenness, Psalms 51:17 “The sacrifice of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise “
Let us with the knowledge of all this, seek to find the true value of worship from the scriptures, considering that we are not the only ones who are engaged in this exercise but, according to Isiah 6: worship is a continuous practice among Seraphims they cry one to another and said “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts: the whole earth is full of his Glory “
Here again we observe the connection between heaven and earth in worship.
