The Express Gratitude of Two Mothers!!
Thousands of years apart.
(Let me take this opportunity in wishing all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day. Mothers are mothers whether they are Christians or non-Christians. We recognize them because of the unique responsibility in bringing offspring into the world. From a Christian standpoint we would like to look at two different mothers who lived many years apart but, were similar in their response to their pregnancy we read in 1st Samuel 2:1-2. “And Hannah prayed, and said, my heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over my enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God”.
(Here is a mother who is giving God the glory and praise for the fruit of her womb, which God had previously closed according to verse five (5) of chapter (1) one. Just imagine Hannah’s joy of being a mother.
The other mother who lived thousands of years later. In Luke 1:46-50 ” And Mary said, my soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit rejoice in God my Savior For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation”.
(These two mothers had one thing in common their children came by miracles. Therefore, there acknowledgement to God was similar. We give God the glory for all mothers, knowing that being a mother is a blessing from God
