(These are words that people the world over is familiar with, ever since they were children.
This teaching was designed to educate people of the awareness of the true source universal power.
According to Romans 13:1 ” Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God” The power that be are ordained of God.
We understand from this verse of Scripture that there is only one source of power in the entire universe and that is God’s power. To confirm this statement, we read in John 19 :10 & 11. Pilate said to Jesus, “Do you not know that I have power to crucify you and power to release you?
Jesus answered thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore, he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin”.
In this it is obvious that all power that man exercised is subject to the higher power which is of God.
When Jesus taught his disciples this prayer called the “our father” prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 it was meant to inform them about righteous living and God’s standard. This made it deliberate on Jesus’s part to inform them about the true source of power, when he said in closing: For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever Amen).
