(We are forced to respect prophecy. Who would have thought that after hundreds of years the patriarch Jacob called his twelve sons with the intention to inform them of what shall befall them in the future. The information he shared with Judah is most interesting.
He said to Judah in Genesis 29:9-10 “Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, Thou art gone up: he stoop down, he crouch as a lion, and as an old lion, who shall rouse him up?
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a law giver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be” This prophetic utterance from Jacob was fulfilled in the birth of Jesus. Jesus is our Shiloh as was stated by Jacob. The prophecy also stated that unto him Shiloh/Jesus shall the gathering of the people be. How remarkable is this prophecy? That today the vast majority of religious gatherings is unto Shiloh/Jesus (Messiah).
Through the prophetic eyes of Jacob, the world was informed about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are so privileged to be living and sharing these prophetic lines as we worship and praise our Savior Jesus, who according to Revelation 5:5 “And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof” (our Jesus is from the tribe of Judah.)
