I am forced to revisit the recent Women’s Seminar which was held on the 25th of May 2024, hosted by the Apostolic Church In America Women’s Ministry. Taking a closer look at the scriptures, one will discover that walking In Love means the very expression of the nature of God. The word tells us in 1 John 4: 8, 16 that “GOD IS LOVE”. That being said means the entire nature and character of God is Love.
Let’s take a look at 1 Corinthians 13 to see if we can discover what the true nature of God is. Biblically speaking the word charity means love. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, we will use the word love in place of charity ” Love suffereth long, (which speaks to the patience of God) love is kind, (which speaks to God’s attitude towards men). Love envieth not, (which speaks to not being grudgeful of others and their property) love vaunteth not itself, (meaning love does not brag or boastful). Love is not puffed up, (meaning love does not exhibit pride) love does not behave itself unseemly, (meaning love does not dwell on self but is mindful of the needs of others). Love seeks not her own, (meaning love is never selfish). ” Love is not easily provoked, (meaning it absorbs, insult, abuse or injury)
Love thinks no evil, (meaning love takes no account of evil). Love rejoices not in iniquity, (meaning love does not engage in gossip about the misdeeds of others).
But love rejoice in the truth (meaning upholding the word of God as a standard)
Love bears all things, (meaning love seldomly complain). Love believes all things, (meaning love takes the kindest views of every situation). Love hopes all things (meaning love keep s believing for the best). Love endures all things, (meaning love is long-suffering).
(Based on what we have read in this chapter. When we say that we’re walking In Love, it means we are expressing the entire nature and character of God, for God is Love).
