According to Matthew 6:19-21 ” lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth or rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not breakthrough and steal,
For where your treasure is there will be your heart also”.
(There are many people who have committed suicide, who have experienced heart attacks, who have lost their minds because they have lost their treasure on earth.
We’ve seen where identify theft has created great distress for people who are in possession of wealth.
So there’s always a risk in storing One’s Treasure on earth.
Jesus spoke of another type of treasure and he encouraged us to store in heaven. This involves doing good to our fellow man, Love your neighbors as yourself, pray for your enemy, forgive those who trespass against you, and despitefully use you.
It also involves the paying of your tithe and offering and contribute to the financial needs of others. Treasures in heaven also means giving of your time, talent, and energy to meet the needs of others.
I therefore encourage everyone to follow the teachings of Jesus by laying up treasures in heaven, for where your treasure is there will be your heart also.
