All of us have sat in the place where you have felt or said “I blew it” “I don’t know what else to do anymore” “I’m feeling like a failure” “I wish to God that I would not have done this thing”
Reading Genesis 22: Abraham, Isaac and two servants, the Lamb, God, the altar, the sacrifice, the mountain, the wood… 6 to 7 days. The journey of miracle.
Ordinary to extraordinary: when the routine becomes an encounter with glory, when the obedience of one man becomes the blessings for all nations. That’s why you need to pray for all those who are in authority over you. Their act of obedience can be your gateway to unlimited favor and blessings.
The demonstration of faith by anyone becomes an impacting influence upon those around.
I would love to hear the conversation among Abraham, Isaac and the two young men over those 7 days. Day 1, 2, 3 …..7. What were the expectations? At the end of day 3, how did their lives and expectations changed?
What we do know is this: You cannot have an encounter with God and still be the same. If we can be impacted so greatly by this story, centuries later, I can only imagine these four individuals at the moment of the miracle.
Abraham was asked by God to worship, make a sacrifice, without the “perfect sacrifice” now Abraham was very rich so he could afford a Lamb.
*** Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Sacrifice and offering were not an uncommon thing to Abraham, Isaac or the 2 servants. The request from God though, is an uncommon/unusual request.
Uncommon request is where logics and intellect, the experience and what you know starts to battle and oppose the instruction and commands of God.
- Note: Abraham did not carry a lamb from his flock with him, “Just in case”
- He had once fallen into this trap and produce Ishmael who caused tension in his household.
Nothing in life can prepare you for the moment you have a supernatural encounter with God. Even previous supernatural encounters do not prepare you for the next one. “You get blown away every-time.”
Walk by Faith and not by Sight.

Absolutely true this is a really powerful reminder to always walk by faith 🙏
Recently discussing some situations with a believer being tested, Abraham’s testing was talked about. It was unimanageable the thoughts going on in his mind and thinking it was good he did not tell his wife Sarah. His servants were told to remain while he and the lad go to worship and return. That is faith and obedience. The altar wood and Isaac was to be the sacrifice, a type of the Savior, the Lamb. He was tested to the limit. When asked where is the sacrifice, he was told God would provide Himself a sacrifice, Jehovah Jireh and as he was about to slay his son, God spoke; for now I know that thou fearest God, in not withholding your only son. A ram caught in the thicket, became the substitute. Jesus became our substitute. The lad could have ran away, but was also obedient as Jesus was unto death. Young children today should be trained to be obedient to their elders and prayed for. This was indeed a life changing experience. The conversation ended, believe God and be blessed. We all have to be tested.
