To whom does Jesus give REST – Those burdened down with the load of Sin:
However much we labor to keep God’s Law, without the New life in Jesus – meaning the Born-again experience – it is impossible.
We are justified by Faith – not by our own works – But with the Finished work of Christ on the Cross: This is Spiritual REST – With The Holy Spirit’s help, we experience inner Peace – and Calm in the midst of the storms of life – Both Spiritual and Physical.
Jesus speaks Peace within and without to the storms: He said my Peace I leave with you – My peace I give unto you – not as the world giveth, giveth I unto you – Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid – For I Am with you – I will never leave you – nor forsake you.
Sweep over my soul, Sweep over my soul, Sweet Spirit sweep over my soul – My REST is complete as I sit at His Feet – Sweet Spirit sweep over my soul.
Our hearts and mind should REST on the Merits of Jesus the Son of God – He is the fullness of the Godhead Bodily – We are complete in Him – Spirit – Soul – Body.
The Body which contains the Spirit and Soul need to be taken care of – It needs rest from labor and tiredness – It needs sleep to restore – refresh and be in health even as the soul prospereth.
Ecclesiastes 5:12: The sleep of a laboring man is sweet – God ordained that man should REST after a hard day’s work – It is good for Mind – Soul – and Body – He is concerned about making man Whole:
Psalm 3:5: I laid me down and slept – I awaked – For the Lord sustained me.
Psalm 4:8: I will both lay me down in Peace, and sleep – For so He giveth His beloved sleep – Lack of sleep causes health problems.
Mark 6:30-31: The Apostles were sent out by Jesus to preach, heal and cast out devils – they came back reporting all they had done – And He said unto them – Come ye apart into a desert place and REST for a while – they had no leisure time – not even to eat.
{Quite time and Fellowship with God is refreshing to both Soul and Body}
The Body is The Temple of the Living God – We have this treasure in earthen vessels {our bodies} where, The Blessed Holy Spirit dwells, and He equips us for service in the Kingdom of God:
1 Thess 5:23-24: And the very God of Peace, sanctify you wholly – And I pray God – your whole Spirit and Soul and Body – be preserved blameless – unto the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ: Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.
As the saying goes – don’t sweat it – don’t be anxious – worry – fret -or be afraid – with Jesus in the vessel you can smile at the storms all around us, and as you look at the world today, it is frightening:
REST in the Lord wait patiently for Him – He is coming Soon – Be Ready for Eternal REST awaiting us.

Very good. Much needed in today’s fast pace, godless society.
