Many of God’s servants struggle at the voice of the Lord because of some of the things he says, some of which do not line up with our world view. In order to overcome this struggle knowing his voice is a must. Strange things can be said by the Lord, which will only be embraced if we know his voice.
Let’s take a look at the scripture.
1 Kings 17:1-6 “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
And the word of the Lord came unto him saying,
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
So, he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwell by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and fish in the morning, and bread and fish in the evening; and he drank of the brook.”
(Of all the birds available, why did God choose this unclean bird to feed his servant? When one considers the work of the ravens, Elijah must know the voice of the Lord for him to remain calm. God chose a creature that feeds on dead carcasses to bring meals to his beloved.
This is especially hard to accept when one read, Leviticus 11:13-15. Let me encourage all God’s people to develop the attitude of listening for the voice of God, so as to be able to trust Gods’ judgement when he speaks, as Elijah did.
Please read 1 Kings chapters 17 and 18 for more details.

So many times I have heard the Voice of the Lord, not so much audibly, but in the still soft Voice of the Spirit in my heart, and what a blessing it turns out to be. I have to say thank you Lord, I Worship you.
