It is good to remind ourselves that we are not self-existing. Therefore, we will have to acknowledge and give thanks to him who controls our life. The Bible tells us in Psalm 68:19. ” Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation”
(The Bible speaks of a daily loading. We ask ourselves what are some of these benefits? The benefit of oxygen, the benefit of the sunlight, the benefit of the rain, the benefit of food, the benefit of shelter, the benefit of reasoning, the benefit of sleep, these are benefits that we often overlook. The fact that the word loadeth is used it means that this blog will not be able to contain the rest that we should acknowledge. What is interesting about these benefits, is that we are recipients of them but, we are not the creator or sustainer of them. All these benefits that are named and the many more which are not named belongs to God. Psalms 103:2 tells us “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” Now we can clearly see that all benefits we receive daily comes from God. The Psalmist said we should not forget HIS benefits, that being said it should also be a daily load of thanksgiving on our part. The word also tells us in Acts 17, that” In him we live and move and have our being” So, if you’ve not given thanks yet? Now is a good time to start.
